Cool morning, isolated light rain forecast for upper Thailand, showers in South

The North, the Northeast and the Central region will continue to experience cool weather in the morning and isolated light rain as a moderate high-pressure system from China covers upper Thailand, while the lower South will see isolated heavy to very heavy rain as the strong northeast monsoon prevails over the region, the Meteorological Department forecast on Thursday.

It warned people in the South to beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods. The department also said waves in the Gulf are 2-3 metres high and above 3 metres during thundershowers. It advised all ships to proceed with caution and keep away thundershower areas, while small boats should stay ashore until at least December 1.

Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

North: Cool weather in the morning; temperature lows of 17-22 degrees and highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius. Temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 8-15 degrees Celsius.

Northeast: Cool weather in the morning; temperature lows of 18-22 degrees and highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius. Temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 10-17 degrees Celsius.

Central: Cool weather in the morning and isolated light rain; temperature lows of 21-23 degrees, highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius.

East: Partly cloudy and isolated light rain; temperature lows of 21-24 degrees, highs of 33-34 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres off shore.

 

South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy to very heavy rain; temperature lows of 22-24 degrees, highs of 27-33 degrees Celsius; waves 2-3 metres high and over 3 metres during thundershowers.

South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 22-23 degrees, highs of 29-33 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Partly cloudy; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
